About Yoga Classes
Deeply rooted in classical Hatha Yoga, Monisha teaches a practice originating thousands of years ago in India that balances the nervous, glandular, endocrine and circulatory systems of the body through a series of steady postures (asanas) and breathing practices (pranayama).
The focus of class is to ground and bring stability to the body and mind, while building strength and flexibility through a slow-paced meditative practice.
The student explores each posture through breath and alignment, increasing awareness and presence.
The main yogic principle of Ahimsa (non-violence), is of paramount importance, and students begin with self. Monisha guides individuals safely through the various poses, along with the use of props, if necessary.
Through the purification of the physical and mental body, the student can experience higher states of energy like joy, enthusiasm and freedom in their daily lives, ultimately reaching the goal of yoga - Samadhi, complete union of self with universal consciousness.
This practice is well suited for beginners.
