Nervous System Reset - A Yoga & Ayurveda Series: Apr 5, 12, 19 & 26

from $45.00

Your body was not designed to stay in fight or flight. This series is your way back.

Modern life keeps our nervous systems in a near-constant state of activation. Over time, that chronic stress accumulates — in the body, the breath, and the mind. In Ayurveda, this is understood as a Vata imbalance: a depletion of the qualities of warmth, stillness, and groundedness that our nervous system needs to function and heal.

This April, join me for a four-week series using yoga, pranayama (breathing practices) and Yoga Nidra to help your body find its way back to balance. Each session builds on the last, offering both modern nervous system science and the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda as your guides.

Apr 5 – Understanding the Nervous System & grounding
We begin by understanding what's actually happening in the nervous system — and why. Drawing on Ayurvedic principles of Vata pacification, this is a grounding practice to settle the body and quiet the mind, with an introduction to Yoga Nidra.

Apr 12 – Release & Unwind
The body holds what the mind cannot. In Ayurveda, unresolved stress creates ama — accumulated toxicity in the tissues. This session focuses on the hips, psoas, and areas where chronic stress accumulates — using slow and supported holds.

Apr 19 – Tone & Regulate
The vagus nerve is the body's built-in pathway to calm, and it can be trained. In this session, we use humming, chanting, breath, and gentle inversions to actively self-regulate. Ayurvedic practices include sound and oil massage as tools.

Apr 26 – Rest Is Medicine
We close with a full restorative practice and Sankalpa — planting intentions for the season ahead. In Ayurvedic view Spring is the body's natural time of renewal, and rest, nourishment, and self-care are not indulgences but necessities.

Each class will include:
• A brief educational talk with practical guidance
• A 60-minute asana practice
• Pranayama and deep relaxation

All levels are welcome. Postures are made accessible with props.
