This 90-minute immersive workshop explores Muladhara Chakra, the root energy center associated with stability, safety, and structural support.
We begin with a teaching component clarifying the role of the root chakra in both yogic philosophy and modern life — how grounding the nervous system, and physical alignment form the foundation for emotional and mental steadiness.
The asana practice emphasizes:
Standing postures that build strength and create structure
Slow, deliberate transitions to cultivate stability
Hip and pelvic awareness
Conscious connection to the feet and legs
The session concludes with a guided meditation incorporating mudra (hand seals) and mantra (chanting) to reinforce grounding and internal steadiness. We explore awareness at the base of the spine while maintaining presence.
This workshop is designed to:
Strengthen physical and energetic foundations
Reduce anxiety through regulation and stability
Cultivate confidence rooted in inhabiting the body
Prepare the system for deeper energetic work
Suitable for both new and experienced practitioners. Modifications are offered to meet you where you are.
Location:The Broome Street Ganesha Temple, 430 Broome Street, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10013
*Also available online via Zoom
*Recording available if you are unable to attend in-person
